Parents, tell us what you think: survey about climate at school, tell us what you think: survey about climate at school<p>Parents and guardians can provide feedback on the climate at our school through a survey that will be open from January 7 to 25. Parents and guardians with more than one child (in Grades 4 to 8) can complete one survey per child.<br><br>Survey topics include: the overall climate of the school, student well-being, and equity and inclusion.<br><br><strong>Complete the survey now: </strong><a href=""></a> <br><br>A similar survey is being conducted with students and staff. Each school will receive a report of the school results. The Simcoe County District School Board’s (SCDSB) senior administrative team and Board of Trustees also review the board-wide results. <br><br>The data will show our progress over time, and will highlight areas of strength and areas in need of improvement.  <br><br>Student School Climate surveys have been collected since 2007.<br><br>Questions can be sent to <a href=""></a>.</p>

Street is running for Terry!!<p>​<span lang="EN-CA" style="font-size:12pt;font-family:"arial",sans-serif;color:black;">The Terry Fox School Run is here and we are in our final push to fundraise for cancer research.  To donate, simply click <a href=""></a> and donors will receive their receipts immediately. Please remember, .82 cents of every dollar goes directly to cancer research. We are so proud to be carrying on Terry’s Message of Hope and commitment to help those suffering with cancer. Barrie Colts Game - Saturday March 3, 2018 Colts Game - Saturday March 3, 2018<p><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:"comic sans ms";">​Treat yourselves to a fun evening of hockey at the Barrie Molson Centre. The ticket are $20 </span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:"comic sans ms";">per person and the school will receive $6 for every ticket purchased. </span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:"comic sans ms";">The more tickets we sell, the more money we make for our </span><span style="font-family:"comic sans ms";font-size:10pt;">school! </span></p>
White Elephant Sale Elephant Sale<p>​<span style="color:#000000;font-family:-webkit-standard;">​Our annual White Elephant Sale will be taking place on Friday, February </span><span style="color:#000000;font-family:-webkit-standard;">16th from 1:15 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. During this time, families are welcome to come into the school and participate in a variety of fun activities that are set up in the junior and intermediate classrooms. There will also be a garage and bake sale going on in the gym.</span><span style="color:#000000;font-family:-webkit-standard;"> </span></p><p style="color:#000000;font-family:-webkit-standard;"></p><p style="color:#000000;font-family:-webkit-standard;">We are looking for gently used household items for our garage sale. For example, toys, games, DVDs, CDs, jewelry, knick knacks, books, puzzles and other miscellaneous household items. Please begin gathering gathering these items around your home, from relatives and friends and send them into the school starting Monday, February 12th. </p><p style="color:#000000;font-family:-webkit-standard;"></p><p style="color:#000000;font-family:-webkit-standard;">We will also need items for our bake sale. Please send in peanut free baked goods on the morning of the White Elephant Sale. All money raised in the White Elephant Sale will go towards additional technology and new basketball standards and hoops, on our new basketball court outside. </p><p style="color:#000000;font-family:-webkit-standard;"></p><p style="color:#000000;font-family:-webkit-standard;">If you are able to volunteer to help sell items in the gym on the day of the White Elephant Sale, please​ contact the office.</p>

‘Bus Tag’ program helps students get to and from school safely‘Bus Tag’ program helps students get to and from school safely<p>​</p><p>The Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium (SCSTC) launched the Bus Tag<strong> </strong>program this September.<strong> </strong>The Bus Tag program supports safety for JK/SK and other school-identified students by<strong> </strong>providing a process to match students to their assigned afternoon school bus and to also<strong> </strong>identify they must be met by a parent or guardian at their afternoon bus stop.</p><p>The program provides:</p><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>a colour coded bus tag with the assigned p.m. route number to be attached to the student's backpack</li><li>a colour-coded route card with route number in the windows of the school bus that the Bus Tag is matched to</li></ul><p>The SCSTC and Bus Operators have policies and procedures that are used on all school vehicles to ensure students in JK/SK and other school identified students are met at their afternoon bus stop.  It's the parent/guardian's responsibility to meet Junior Kindergarten, Senior Kindergarten and other identified students at the bus stop .The Bus Tag program has been established to assist both the schools and school bus drivers to load these students on the correct afternoon bus and identify they are to be met at their bus stop by a parent/guardian. Pay for field trips, lunch days, etc. with SchoolCash Online for field trips, lunch days, etc. with SchoolCash Online<p>​</p><p>The SchoolCash Online program is now available at all schools, offering parents the option to pay online for field trips, lunch days and other items. The program is intended to reduce paper, eliminate the need for students to travel with money, and for money to be counted and stored at schools.<strong>  </strong>Payment by credit card has now also been added. </p><p>Parents who sign up will receive a notification when a new item becomes available for purchase. Items are personalized to each student.  Parents will use a secure online account to process payments, and can either make a one-time payment for each item as it occurs, or load money to carry a balance in the online account to make payments in the future. </p><p>To create an online account, go to <a href="" target="_blank"><span lang="EN-CA" style="text-decoration:underline;"></span></a>.
