Dear School Community,
As
we enter the month of May, I want to extend my appreciation for your
continued support, collaboration, and commitment to our students. The
Taste of Culture Event was attended by many of our families. Thank you
to those who volunteered to share their culture in a room and to all
those who came ready to learn and try something new.
Here are a few important updates for the month ahead:
•
Spring events: We have several activities planned, field trips,
sporting events, and clubs. Please check the school calendar and emails
for updates.
•EQAO: Teachers will be guiding students through the Grade 3 and 6 EQAO process at the end of May/beginning of June.
•
Planning for next year: Information on Out of Areas will be sent this
month. If you live out of the Steele Street Area, please be prepared to
register at your home school. Students will need to start the year at
their home school. Consideration for out of areas will not be made until
after “turn around day” in September. This may be new information for
you, so please ensure you and your child are prepared for this.
As always, our focus remains on creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for every student.
Wishing you a wonderful month ahead.
Warm regards,
Andrea Newburn
Our
annual Junior and Intermediate soccer tournaments will be taking place
at the end of May. Mr. Mackenzie will be adding sign-up instructions to
our daily announcements slides over the next couple of weeks. Look out
for them!
